Pods

These works are part of a recent series of drawings, embroideries and paintings exploring themes of psychological renewal and emotional retreat. Central to the series is the idea of an emotional “pod” or “portal”, a form that shifts between seed, abstracted eye and bodily shape with a dark area at the center. These forms are meant to reflect the uncertainty that accompanies inner transformations and the unknown aspects of what may emerge through psychological change. Working with thread and paint becomes both a metaphor and a practice for retreat, an intimate and meditative process, in itself.
